It's here! The last day of 2018. A day to reflect on the past 365 days and look ahead to the excitement that will come with 2019. A day to recharge. A day to celebrate all the good in our lives with those closest to us. Celebrate, indeed! We put together a list of some ways you can ring in the new year in Western New York:

First Night Buffalo:

The 30th annual First Night Buffalo is a fun option for the whole family to enjoy New Years Eve in a safe, drug and alcohol-free way! Hosted by the Independent Health Foundation, families stay warm inside the Buffalo Convention Center and join in the fun with carnival rides, bounce houses, acrobats, exotic animals and much more, there is certainly something for everyone. The event runs from 5:00 until 10:00pm, with a grand finale balloon drop at 9:45pm.

New Year's Eve Ball Drop:

Ring in 2019 with a good old fashioned ball drop! Brave the cold and gather at Electric Tower for the second largest ball drop in the United States. Bring family & friends to welcome in the new year followed by a fabulous display of fireworks! In celebration of its 31st anniversary, the Buffalo Ball Drop will feature performances by Tommy Z and the All Star Band. Free parking is also available at nearby Buffalo Civic Auto Ramps, Main Place Mall and Fernbach Ramps. 

 

Buffalo Sabres vs. New York Rangers

What better way to get your NYE evening started than cheering on your favorite hockey team at home?!  The Sabres taken on the NY Rangers at KeyBank Center - puck drops at 6 PM! Let's Go Buffalo!

Free Skate in East Aurora:

The Healthy Zone Rink is partnering with the Town of Aurora to offer a free, family-friendly public skate on NYE from 11-11:50 PM immediately followed by a ball drop on site! Bring the whole family for skating on the outdoor rink and a local celebration of the start of 2019. Skate rentals are available for $3.00. Already have late-night plans? There is also public skating on 12/31 from 1-2:20pm and 7-8:45pm. 

Not in the southtowns? There is also public skating at Canalside and Rotary Rink!

 

Statler City's Ice Ball: 

The fanciest party in town this New Year's Eve! Ticket holders receive 4 hours of premium open bar, plenty of excellent food (not just hors d’oeuvres!), a champagne toast, amazing live music, 4 rooms with sit-down dining, and more! Dig out your razzle-dazzle attire for this one!
